“Boyfriend” — Big Time Rush ft. Snoop Dogg

Earlier this year, I was hanging with my young niece and nephew watching some bizarre kids’ show on Nickelodeon, “Big Time Rush.” I was only half paying attention when the four extraordinarily-built-for-being-allegedly-pubescent boy band members starting singing a song titled, “Boyfriend.”
“Hey, this is a really fun song — it’s actually pretty good,” I remember thinking. Fast forward a few months and I hear a catchy song on the radio that sounds oddly familiar but this time featuring … Snoop Dogg? Yes, Snoop Dogg. I still hadn’t made the connection that it was the same song I watched on the silly Nickelodeon show that fateful day.
I may slightly be embarrassed to admit that I like this song (but I’m even more embarrassed to admit that those boys make me want to grow up and become a cougar one day). I don’t even mind that it frequently gets stuck in my head when the only lyrics I can recite are, “boy-boy-boy-boy-friend.” But I guess you can judge for yourself.
Who knew Snoop Dogg’s future-self is analogous to Rufus from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure?
